Brian Oxley
I have lived in West Hythe for 40 years and much of my work is inspired by the garden of Wayfield House and landscapes of the marsh.
I started off my Art Education at Folkestone Art School and then progressed through Canterbury College of Art, Goldsmiths College and KIAD where I undertook the Interdisciplinary MA in Art & Architecture.
I taught in both secondary and adult education, I was a painting tutor at Dedham Hall for 10 years and have demonstrated painting techniques for the ‘Artist Magazine’
I have exhibited widely in London (inc. RA summer exhibition), Dublin, Hampshire, Suffolk, Sussex and Kent. I have participated frequently with both the South East Open Studios and the Hythe Festival Art Trail.
I have been featured in ‘Artists in Britain since 1945’ and ‘Who’s Who in Art’ My commissions include murals for the ‘Saga Rose’ and portraits for the I’mos Foundation’.
