My small artworks often start in notebooks, as a conversation with myself. I find inspiration on travels and when out walking. I look at and absorb the world and ponder the underlying structure and relationships, both material and psychological.
Originally from the north of England, I am currently living and working on the Kent coast - so fulfilling a long-held dream to live by the sea.

I was Born in Cheshire but have lived in Hythe since 1986. Painting outdoors (plein air) was my main hobby while working a lifetime in banking. Since retiring in 2012, I have pursued my passion with renewed vigour. Self taught, I paint on-the-spot in oils and try to capture the essence of a place in an impressionistic and spontaneous way. I have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, at the Mall Galleries with both the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists, I have also shown with the Chelsea Art Society. website |
Ken Sinyard
I started my career in Art by attending Saturday Morning Still Life at Camberwell School of Art when I was 16 before studying Graphic Design at Croydon College of Art. In 1972 I picked up the camera to spend 40+ years as an Art Director on many national magazines and newspapers - from Period Living to The Financial Times - ending up at the BBC as Art Director of Internal Communications. Later, I went freelance with a balance of design and photography. I retired in 2016, moved to Hythe and have gone back to drawing classes simply for fun and enjoyment. No, I do not play the guitar, but I did sing in the same school choir as Rory Gallagher's piano player. website |

I am a contemporary mixed media artist whose eclectic and conceptual 3D work ranges from installations to altered ready-mades. I have exhibited locally, nationally and on the Continent. In 2017-2018 I was one of two artists who developed the installation "Art of Communication" which contained over 500 decorative strips created by artists from abroad and in the UK. It was shown in three different venues and demonstrated the power of social interaction within the art community. My preferred 2D medium is printmaking. For pleasure and as a discipline, I draw and paints regularly from life. I am a long-standing member of Ashford Visual Artists. website |
Corrine Weaver I live in Hythe and specialises in fine art coastal photography. I am particularly drawn to the "banding" of colours on the seascape and my coastal photography has developed to reflect a more abstract and minimalist style to capture the mood and colours that I feel and see. The simplicity and minimalist style and colour palette of my images have an ethereal quality, inviting the viewer to seek refuge in their calmness and encourage a moment of peace and mindfulness. website |
